Foundedin 1903, this is a public institution offering undergraduate and graduate programs in the liberal arts and sciences, business, education, engineering, fine arts, health and human services, and preprofessional studies. There are 6 undergraduate and 1 graduate school. The 451 acre campus is in an urban area 140 miles west of Detroit and 140 miles east of Chicago. Including residence halls there are 130 buildings.

Fraternities, sororities and over 400 clubs and organizations are on campus. Tours are available through the admissions office.

Mentone Egg Festival Mentone IN May30-June1 The three-day event features entertainment, games, food, a parade in the downtown area, a play area for kids, and a huge car, truck, motorcycle and tractor show. All entertainment events are free. Flea markets and crafters line the main street in our downtown.
