Carlton

In the Pines and Mines Region, Carlton is located in Carlton County (of which it is the county seat). The town was named for its settler, Reuben B. Carlton. In the Duluth metro area, Carlton is close to Jay Cooke State Park. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 919, a decrease of four since 1990.
