Crane Lake is located in
St. Louis County, in the
Superior North Shore Region. From nearby overlooks at Vermilion Gorge, Vermillion Falls and Grassy Bay Cliffs, are views of some of the oldest geological formations in the nation.
Almost on the border with Canada, Crane Lake is reached by US 53, then county roads 23 and 24.
