Silver Bay Golf Course |
was built in 1959 by the Reserve Mining Company, the Silver Bay Golf Course has matured into one of the finest 9-hole layouts in the state. The golf course opened to the public in 1983, and is now owned by the City of Silver Bay. The course is a very well maintained, regulation par 36 that measures 3,173 ft from the back tees. Surrounded by heavily forested hills, and laid out across the east branch of the Beaver River, the golf course offers both natural beauty as well as a fair challenge to golfers. Construction of a driving range adjacent to the course was recently completed. The Pro Shop stocks golfing needs as well as Silver Bay Logo merchandise; PGA member James O'Leary is on staff to provide professional golf instruction. Sandwich grill is open daily 11:30am-7:30pm, Mother's Day-September; dining room has a seating capacity of 100 and is available for party rentals. Silver Bay Golf Course is a 'Soft Spikes' only facility.
