Lakes of the Northern Lights Region

Dense birch and pine forests amid a network of rivers and lakes that flow into each other comprise Minnesota's Lakes of the Northern Lights Region. This area, where the state's northern border meets Canada, is home to such beautiful natural features as Voyageurs National Park, the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, and Lake of the Woods.

During half of the year fishing, boating and canoeing are enjoyed. Winter adventures include ice fishing, snowmobiling and dog-sledding.
