Woods and Waters Region

In this region, the Mississippi River starts as a quiet, woodland stream. Also located here are Minnesota's largest lakes: Red, Mille Lacs, Leech, and "Big Winnie." Of course the Woods and Waters are a scenic and perfect backdrop for fishing, golfing, biking, or relaxation. In the winter, opportunities for snowmobiling and cross-country skiing are abundant.

Hundreds of resorts and campgrounds lie within this region at the center of Minnesota's "10,000 Lakes."
