Arrow Rock is located in
Saline County east of Marshall along Highway 41 near the
Missouri River between
Marshall and
Boonville. It was established as a trading post in 1808 and was once a busy river port.
The town is nestled on a bluff along the Missouri River, Arrow Rock is a peaceful place untouched by time. The 70 people who live there today invite you to visit.
Native American gathered flint from the bluff for arrowheads, thus the name Arrow Rock. In 1804, the Lewis and Clark Expedition noted the local bluff and nearby salt licks as they traveled up the Missouri River.
