Breckenridge is located in Caldwell County, in the northeast corner of the county, between Hamilton and Chillicothe on State Route B. It was founded in 1856 and was known as the Dodge City of Missouri. It presently has a population of 454 people, but in the early 1900's was as large as 1,400.

Breckenridge is home of the Haun's millstone, a relic of historical significance to the Mormon faith.

It is a perfect way to spend a summer evening with family and friends. They have several programs to study and explore such as Speaker's Bureau and Poster and Sonnet Contest. The faculty includes theatre professionals, actors, and educators experienced in performing and teaching Shakespeare. Many of the instructors are veterans of festival productions.
