Objects of historic and artistic interest depict the career of President Truman and U.S. history from 1945 to 1953 when he was in office. Also displayed are a replica of Truman's office in the White House, the table on which the United Nations charter was signed, and exhibits about the history of the presidency. Truman and his wife are both buried on the grounds. The museum also offers a gallery with changing exhibits.

The faculty includes theatre professionals, actors, and educators experienced in performing and teaching Shakespeare. Many of the instructors are veterans of festival productions.
