Historic Independence Square

Nearly all of Independence's historic sites surround the stately Historic Independence Square. This is the heart of Independence - where visitors and locals alike enjoy coming "Uptown" for unique shopping, antique-hunting and historic dining. Harry S Truman began his political career as a County Judge in the Square's historic courthouse. Four sites and several historic markers can be found right on the square.
