Paris is located in
Monroe County, of which it is the county seat, 34 miles north of
Mexico along Highway 15 on the banks of the Middle Fork of the Salt River near
Mark Twain Lake and State Park. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 1,368, a decrease of 118 since 1990.
It was named after Paris, KY.
