'A Unique Federal City in South Mississippi'

Located on Hwy 607, this is a space shuttle main engine testing center. Research at this historic 13,480-acre installation includes space, oceanographic and environmental studies by NASA and other agencies. A visitor center offers a motion simulator, films, exhibits and tours of the shuttle complex. A moon rock and the Apollo 4 command module are displayed. Open daily, admission is free to the public; closed major holidays.
