Water Valley is approximately 25 miles south of
Oxford, Mississippi, home of the University of Mississippi and the Ole Miss Rebels, and approximately 85 miles south of Memphis, Tennessee.
Yalobusha General Hospital & Nursing Home's mission is to provide quality healthcare services in a caring and financially responsible manner to the people of Yalobusha County.
The first expansion for the facility was in 1969, which opened up 40 beds for use as a nursing home. In 1974, the hospital "West Wing" was opened and brought their capacity to 26 acute care beds. Later, the original acute wing was renovated into nursing home space providing 17 additional beds. In November, 2000, their new nursing home expansion was opened with 72 nursing home beds and 2 personal care beds as well as a larger dining room/activity room area, shower/bath facilities and office space.
