Choteau is the seat of Teton County, 50 miles northwest of Great Falls between Fairfield and Bynum along US 89 near Freezeout Lake and Bynum Reservoir.
West of town is the Bob Marshall Wilderness Wilderness Area with access to 1.5 million acres of wildlands.
