Emigrant Gulch

Emigrant Gulch Mining District is the oldest in Park County. Placer gold was found in the 1860's. Attempts to mine it were met with hostility from the Crow Indians and after several efforts, mining was abandoned. The ghost town is off Highway 89, north from the Northern Entrance of Yellowstone National Park.
