Later it was offered as the cozy dwelling for the school mistress, but when the one room school house across the way closed its doors and sent its children to the village, the chimney fires ceased to warm its environs. The following long decades of abandonment retired its glow and the rigors of disuse set in upon it... ...Rediscovered in the spring of 1990, the log cottage has been fully restored, combining its turn-of-the-century charm and original fireplace, contemporary but period style kitchen, bath and deck.
