The word Koocanusa is a combination of "Kootenai", "Canada" and "USA," created to name the reservoir lake formed with the construction of Libby Dam. The 90-mile reservoir stretches into British Columbia and is noted for kokanee sockeye salmon, splendid views, waterfall trails and wildlife sightings.
