Makoshika State Park
|---|
To the Lakota, makoshika meant "bad earth" or "bad land." Wind and water have created caprocks, pinnacles, hogback ridges and fluted hillsides. This 8832-acre park also preserves the fossil remains of Tyrannosaurus rex and Triceratops dinosaurs. Fossils, including a Triceratops skull, are on display in the visitor center. Located a quarter mile SE of Glendive on Snyder Avenue, the park offers scenic drives, nature trails, picnic sites, archery range and campground. A $4 day use fee is charged per vehicle. To reach the park, follow the State Park and T. rex tracks through town.
