Pattee Canyon Recreation Area

Pattee Canyon Recreation Area has individual family picnic sites available fore free. There are three group sites available by reservation. The picnic area sits in a grove of large ponderosa pines. The loop roads are paved and there is a host at the site in the summer. Hours are 9:00 to sunset while the host is there and closed the rest of the year. In winter, skiers use the trails. When the area is closed, people are welcome to park outside and walk in to use the area.

Take the Pattee Canyon Road from Missoula 3 miles. The picnic area is on the left and the ski trail parking lot is on the right.
