West Yellowstone Public Library, serving an area of 3,000 residents, has a collection of 12,600 books and periodicals; in addition, there are 420 CDs, records, cassettes and other audio materials, as well as 189 video items, such as DVDs and VHS tapes. Internet terminals are available for use by the general public.

Staffing consists of 2 employees, including one fully accredited librarian, plus volunteers. Annual expenditures on the library collection total $9,200. Patrons make 18,900 visits annually, and check out materials 9,600 times. Twenty-four percent of all check-outs are children's materials.

Eastern Idaho State Fair Blackfoot ID August31-September7 The Eastern Idaho State Fair in Blackfoot begins Labor Day and features horse racing, demolition derby, rodeo, and top name stars along with the excitement of the midway rides and wide range of food booths.

The fair has all the traditional elements of an agricultural fair, including exhibits and 4-H competition.
