Tamaracks ResortA Mountain Retreat on Beautiful Seeley Lake |
Tamaracks Resort features cozy, modern, lakeside cabins nestled among the towering trees of the Lolo National Forest. The resort has offered year around recreation right on beautiful Seeley Lake for over 75 years.
In 1929, Henry and Maude Turner opened the Tamaracks Resort on Seeley Lake. A stay at the resort was usually two weeks and included pack trips into the Bob Marshall Wilderness Area, day rides, and meals. The package cost was about $50 a week. 12 original cabins were built during the depression. The pay was one dollar a day, room and board, and a pouch of tobacco.
Summer Recreation opportunities include hiking the many trails in the Lolo National Forest, swimming, boating, mountain biking, wildlife viewing, fishing and just relaxing on the beach.
Winter Recreation 350 miles of groomed snowmobiling trails, 18 kilometers of groomed cross country ski trail, ice skating, ice fishing, snowshoeing, sledding, and more.
