Three Forks is located in Gallatin County, 37 miles northwest of Bozeman on I-90/US 287. Nearby Missouri Headwaters State Park preserves the historic place where Lewis and Clark discovered the confluence of the Jefferson River, Madison River and Gallatin River - headwaters of the Missouri. In town,the Headwaters Heritage Museum is on on Main St.
