Along with Nevada City, this is one of two authentically preserved and restored mining camps from the gold rush era. Located on Montana Hwy 287 near US 287 southwest of Twin Bridges between Butte and Yellowstone Park, Virginia City hosts the Virginia City Players, who offer 19th century melodrama nightly in the summer. Museums include Nevada City Museum, mining town, period buildings and music hall.The famed Boot Hill Cemetery is there.
