Montana Transport Dance Company

Montana Transport Dance Company's mission is to bring high-caliber, contemporary modern dance from the East and West coasts, to the Northern Rockies and other inland regions, and to take the best modern work being choreographed in Montana and the Northern Rockies out. It works to excite audiences about modern dance and to present works that provoke thought, evoke emotion and are kinesthetically stimulating. It provides short introductions to each dance, explaining a choreographer's motivation or how this work is significant in the realm of modern dance, and holding discussions with the audience after evening concerts. It also presents a 45-minute work designed for kindergarten through 6th grade children that uses modern dance to highlight the parallels between constructing a movement phrase and an English language sentence, besides offering an extensive array of community workshops.
