Yarnell Island |
Yarnell Island is located on the Kootenai National Forest in NW Montana, 21 miles NE of Libby and 3 miles north of Libby Dam on Lake Koocanusa. The site is accessible only boat. During periods of drawdown from the dam, you can walk to the island. There are no facilities, the only toilet having been destroyed by vandals. There are many picnic tables on top of the island. The eight campsites are primitive.
