Search Visit

Tamaulipas is noted for its superb hunting and fishing. Tamaulipas includes 430 km of coastline along the Gulf of Mexico, and the Sierra Madre Occidental range passes through the southwest portion of the state. The many lagoons, estuaries, beaches and saltwater marshes make the shores of Tamaulipas especially interesting to naturalists and nature lovers. Under Spanish rule the area embraced cattle ranching, and today the ranchero culture is an integral part of the lives of the locals.
