Northern Mexico

The States of Sonora, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Durango, Zacatecas, Nuevo Le n and Tamaulipas comprise the northern region of Mexico. Undiscovered except for the border towns, much of what is considered to be the 'wild west state of mind' lives on today in this area. A mixture of independence and isolation make this region and its friendly, rugged people enticing to visitors looking for a different sort of getaway. This is the land of tradition and folklore with tales of lost gold mines, revolutionaries, cattle drives and ghost towns abound.
