Steamers Stop Inn
|
The Steamers Stop Inn, one of New Brunswick's Heritage Inns, is a colonial-style turn-of-the-century home situated on the scenic St. John River in the historic Village of Gagetown. It is just a pleasant drive away from the bustling seaport of Saint John and the beautiful capital city of Fredericton. It boasts six guest rooms, each uniquely decorated, all with private baths, all named after steamers that themed to ply the river. Accessible by boat, the inn offers a glimpse of the past combined with shopping at the area potters, craft houses, weavers, antiques and furniture refinishers. The Inn looks out on Gagetown Island, the home of The Mount Arrat Wildlife Management unit, an ideal spot for birdwatching and photography. For the more active guests, canoes, kayaks and mountain bikes are available. Open May through December; typical room rates range from $65 to $95.
