There are many places to visit in this tourist-minded town. It is located on the banks of the Madawaska River, and offers an array of tourist attractions and outdoor activities. The New Brunswick Botanical Garden, for example, contains more than 30000 perennial flowers and 80000 plants arranged in 8 gardens and two arboreta. The gardens give you access to the Petit Teemes Linera Park, which features a bicyle trail of more than 130 km.
If you're looking for a place to camp, Les Jardins de la Republique Provincial Park offers beautiful campsites, recreation facilities, and an Antique Automobile Museum. And don't forget to visit Teemiscouata Lake, where you can participate in such activities as bird watching, boat tours, bicycling, and canoeing. A nine-hole golf course on Riviere-a-la-Truite Road will suit the most avid player; a zoo on Saint-Joseph Road and a kid's amusement park will provide fun for the whole family.
