Cape Fear River

After flowing through North Carolina on its way to the Atlantic, Cape Fear River passes Wilmington just a few miles inland. A ferry to Kure Beach crosses the river near its mouth. At the mouth itself, the Bald Head Ferry crosses to Bald Head Island, which is guarded by the Old Baldy Lighthouse.
