The High Haven consists of a three story house; each floor has a bath and kitchen, and the upper and lower gatehouses each with a bath and two bedrooms. All are furnished with a deck or a breezeway, stone fireplace, dishwasher, laundry facilities, TV, telephone. It is open from April through October. Mountain climbing, hiking trails, white water rafting, kayaking, tubing, canoeing, golfing, and tennis are the area activities. Entrance to the Appalachian Trail is nearby. Frequent arts and crafts shows take place in various nearby towns. Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls, Banner Elk, Table Rock Mountain, Mt. Mitchell State Park are some of the major area attractions.
