Knightdale is located in
Wake County between
Raleigh and
Wilson on US Hwy 64 near
Garner and the
Neuse River. Named after Mr. Henry Knight who donated some of his vast land holdings in the area to the Norfolk and Southern Railroad Company in the hopes that a railroad would come to the area.
Knightdale is part of the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill metropolitan area.
