Sunflower School

The Sunflower School is a small, non-profit school serving children from 3 to 6 years old in a mixed age grouping. For the 2003-4 school year they operate on a half-day schedule Monday thru Thursday from 9-1pm. They are currently accepting applications for 5 year olds. Their school was begun by a group of dedicated parents who believe strongly in the value and rights of young children and have been inspired by the work of the schools of Reggio Emilia, Italy, constructivist educational theories, and sensitive teachers like Maria Montessori, Vivian Paley, and Sylvia Ashton Warner.
