The Lake Lure Golf and Beach Resort features two world class 18 hole championship golf coures, swimming, boating, hiking, casual and fine dining, conference accomodations and more. Apple Vall ey, designed by Dan Maples, features well-guarded greens and tight fairways. Well-positioned bunkers and undulating terrain make this course a favorite for those who like to make tough shots. Bald Mountain, the original course, was built in 1968. Seen in the movie "Dirty Dancing", it was named for the rock-faced cliffs towering over the course.
