The Lake Lure Golf and Beach Resort features two world class 18 hole championship golf coures, swimming, boating, hiking, casual and fine dining, conference accomodations and more. A wide variety of lodging options are available: everything fr om studio villas to two and three bedroom condominiums; a portfolio of individual resort homes available for any length of stay -- two, three, four and six bedroom homes offer a variety of sleeping arrangements for groups of all sizes. Apple Vall ey, designed by Dan Maples, features well-guarded greens and tight fairways. Well-positioned bunkers and undulating terrain make this course a favorite for those who like to make tough shots. Bald Mountain, the original course, was built in 1968. Seen in the movie "Dirty Dancing", it was named for the rock-faced cliffs towering over the course.
