Sugar Mountain Resort is the largest ski area in North Carolina and one of few resorts breaking a 1,000-foot vertical south of New England. It boasts a 1200 ft vertical. The mountain offers skiers and boarders 20 trails and 8 lifts spread out over 115 acres. For snowboarders there is the well-groomed terrain park with a fun box, tabletop, spine, quarter pipe, rail slide and a brand new lift. In addition to the terrain park, snowboarders are allowed on all trails. The fully certified PSAI and AASI ski and snowboard schools offer programs for all ages and abilities.
