The
Raleigh campus is a multi-service facility with 515 beds and a 24-hour adult emergency department that treats more than 90,000 patients each year. As Wake County's state-designated trauma center, they are home to North Carolina's only 24-hour freestanding Childrens Emergency Department, which serves over 37,000 children each year.
The campus also houses their world-famous Heart Center, which brings all cardiac-related services under one roof. WakeMed is one of the states leading providers of care for cardiac disease, and they have earned such notable distinctions as AARP's Modern Maturity Top Ten Cardiovascular Surgery Program.
A leader in the care of neurological injury and illness, WakeMed provides a comprehensive program that includes Wake County's only neuro intensive care unit and the only inpatient unit dedicated to neuroscience; all located on the Raleigh campus.
WakeMed Rehab rounds out their continuum of trauma, neurological and orthopaedic care with treatment of patients recovering from stroke, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, arthritis and neuromuscular disorders. Their 68-bed rehabilitation hospital is the largest and most comprehensive in the area. WakeMed Rehab serves more than 7,000 patients each year.
