The Reynolda House art collection reflects American art history from 1755 to the present with first-rate examples of its major developments. Beginning with a portrait by the South's finest Colonial artist, the collection continues through the dramatic landscapes of the Hudson River School to pioneers of modernism, Georgia O'Keeffe and Stuart Davis. On view in the attic is vintage clothing of the Reynolds family, including Katharine's handsewn wedding dress and the Paris gowns purchased on her honeymoon. The children's clothes and toys delight young visitors to the museum. Though the art was added to the house to 1967, furnishings and architecture reflect the tastes of the original owners.
