Rockingham North Carolina

Rockingham is located in Richmond County (of which it is the county seat) between Laurinburg and Monroe along US Hwy 74 near Hamlet, Wadesboro, Pee Dee National Wildlife Refuge, Blewett Falls Lake, Weymouth Woods-Sandhills Nat Preserve, and the Pee Dee River. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 8,819, a decrease of 580 since 1990.

The North Carolina Speedway and Rockingham Dragway offer year round events that bring thousands of people to the area. Both are just 5 minutes from downtown.
