Charlotte School of Ballet

Charlotte School of Ballet, the home of Charlotte Youth Ballet, opened in 1968 by Gay Porter, offers two types of programs, the recreational and the vocational. The recreational program is designed for the once- or twice-a-week student who enjoys dancing for fun, with a recital once a year; the vocational program is designed for the serious ballet student whose priority is classical ballet. It is a non-profit organization offering performance opportunities to area students. Classes are held in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, and Tap.
