The 525-acre preserve contains hiking trails, a museum relating the evolution of pine trees, ponds and soil indigenous to the area, and a sound-activated 'night sounds' display highlighting various animals of the sandhills. Open Monday-Saturday 9am-6pm, Sunday 9am-7pm; closed Christmas Day. Free to the public.
