Three islands comprise this component of the North Carolina National Estuarine Research Reserve, with extensive marshes and tidal flats. Inhabitants include shorebirds, mammals, and endangered loggerhead sea turtles. Camping is allowed. Located off the coast of Fort Fisher. Access is by boat only.
