Bottineau

Bottineau is located in northern North Dakota in Bottineau County (of which it is the county seat) about 60 miles northeast of Minot and 10 miles south of the Canadian border.

Outdoor recreation can be found at J. Clark Salyer National Wildlife Refuge about 20 miles southwest of town and Upper Souris National Wildlife Refuge about 60 miles to the southwest. In addition, golfers will enjoy their outings to Birchwood Golf Course, a public 9-hole executive-style course 2,350 yards in length and a par of 33. In addition, Bottineau Country Club, built in 1934, offers the public 9 holes of relaxation on its 2,850-yard, par 36 layout. Its gentle 91 slope rates out at 32.3 (USGA) and is a good course for beginners and seniors, alike.
