Ft. Ransom is located in southeastern North Dakota in Ransom County 65 miles southwest of Fargo on the banks of the Sheyenne River.
Fort Ransom State Park located 2 miles north of town provides the area with recreational facilities including canoe and kayak rentals. Ft. Ransom State Historic Site just southeast of town offers a lesson from the past for school-aged children and adults alike.
