Langdon is located in northeastern North Dakota in Cavalier County (of which it is the county seat) about 20 miles south of the Canadian border.

Situated in the Valley Region, the town is near Bush Lake (15 miles to the northwest and Rock Lake (40 miles west off town) for those that enjoy fishing and other watersports.

Golfers are encouraged to play a round of golf at Langdon Country Club, a semi-private facility with an open guest policy. The 9-hole, par 36, 3,000-yard layout was built in 1975 and is open from April Fool's Day through Halloween.
