Minto is located in the
Valley Region in
Walsh County on the banks of the Forest River about 30 miles north-northwest of
Grand Forks and 10 miles south of
Grafton about 5 miles west of the
Red River of the North near the Ardoch National Wildlife Refuge, a 2,750-acre area helping to promote the conservation of waterfowl and other wildlife.
One of the local attractions is the St. Stanislaus Church which was erected in 1883.
