New Rockford is located in east central North Dakota about 100 miles west-southwest of Grand Forks and is the county seat of Eddy County.
The town is conveniently located near a plethora of recreational opportunities including Devils Lake and Sully's Hill National Game Preserve about 25 miles north of town and [arrownwp] about 40 miles to the south-southeast. In addition, numerous pothole lakes dot the surrounding countryside which provide both habitat for waterfowl and hunting and fishing outings for the general public.
If golfing is your favorite hobby, the town offers the New Rockford Golf Club's 9-hole course. Open from May 1st through October 15th, the layout measures about 3,100 yards and plays to a par of 36.
