New Town Public Library, serving an area of 1,380 residents, has a collection of 15,400 books and periodicals; in addition, there are 154 CDs, records, cassettes and other audio materials, as well as 25 video items, such as DVDs and VHS tapes.
Staffing consists of one employee, plus volunteers. Annual expenditures on the library collection total $580. Patrons make 960 visits annually, and check out materials 2,700 times. Three percent of all check-outs are children's materials.
