St. Thomas is located in the Valley Region in Pembina County about 60 miles north of Grand Forks and 10 miles west of the Red River of the North.

Interesting thigs to check out include Icelandic State Park about 20 miles northwest of town and Gingras Trading Post State Historic Site about 40 miles to the northwest.
