Berwyn is located in
Custer County just south of
Broken Bow, between
Merna and
Ansley off of Hwy 92.

The Lincoln Town-Site Company laid out the town of Berwyn in 1886. It is believed to have been named after a railroad surveyor. A previous name was Janesville.
