Lodgepole Nebraska

Lodgepole is located in Cheyenne County east of Sidney, between Sunol and Chappell along US Hwy 30; near the Oregon & California Trail and the Colorado boarder.

The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 348, a decrease of 20 since 1990.

Lodgepole was named by the Union Pacific Railroad in 1867, spelled as two words. In 1895 the spelling was changed to one word. Incorporated as a village in 1901.
